Worldwide exchange programs

Students in the Department of Physics have many opportunities to integrate a stay abroad into their studies. The Erasmus+ partner universities have not convinced you or you would rather go further afield? Then you've come to the right place!

Further information on possible stays abroad can be found directly on the pages of the International Office.

Overseas Exchange Program

In addition to the Erasmus+ program, there is also the overseas exchange  program with which TU Dortmund University students can go abroad during their studies. There is a choice of countries from all over the world, from Australia and Botswana to Japan, Korea, the USA and Uruguay. Applications must be submitted to the International Office by October 30 for the following academic year. In the overseas program, the tuition fees at the host university are waived. You only pay your visa, travel and accommodation costs. Residence costs can vary greatly depending on the country.

To increase the chances of your application being successful, it is recommended that you get involved in internationalization at TU Dortmund University. Please contact the coordinators for internationalization at the Department of Physics to understand how to get involved.

Please note that you should prepare a Learning Agreement before you leave in order to arrange the recognition of courses from abroad. You can find more information on our website.

Short stays

Is one semester too long for you? Then you might be interested in the short programs or intensive language courses. Short stays are possible from as little as one week and can also take place during the semester break. Find out more about the various options on the website of the International Office.

FreeMover

So far, none of the programs have convinced you or your application was unfortunately not successful? Then you can go to your chosen university as a free mover, e.g. with AuslandsBAföG or another scholarship.
