High School Pupil Internships
Please note that due to current Corona regulations from the state and university administration, we can only offer student internships with reservations in autumn and winter 2021. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
The Department of Physics offers high school pupils with an interest in physics the opportunity to perform hands-on work in our department.
A typical pupil internship includes elements from three areas:
- Attendance at student lectures/events
- Guided experimentation in the quantum mechanics meeting place and/or the physics lab
- Collaboration in the research groups with topics depending on the pupil's interests
Individually arranged procedures deviating from this are possible.

![3D visualisation of human neuronal tissue reconstructed by multi-scale X-ray phase contrast tomography. Neuronal cell nuclei are shown in yellow for the granule neurons in the dentate gyrus region of the hippocampus. Blood vessels are shown in red. By changing the X-ray optical magnification in the multi-scale recordings, one can zoom into regions-of-interest (red ovals). In these scans the resolution is high enough to resolve sub-structures of the nucleus, associated with different DNA packing regimes.
