"As part of the senior professorship awarded to me by the Wilhelm und Else Heraeus-Foundation , I am working on the question of how the rather abstract and confusing field of quantum mechanics can be better communicated in school lessons. To this end, I will produce a handbook from a single source for the Treffpunkt Quantenmechanik (Quantum Mechanics Meeting Point), which was established several years ago at the TU Dortmund University. Furthermore, I will develop the elite physics teaching degree program in Dortmund, which aims to inspire the best students to become teachers."

![3D visualisation of human neuronal tissue reconstructed by multi-scale X-ray phase contrast tomography. Neuronal cell nuclei are shown in yellow for the granule neurons in the dentate gyrus region of the hippocampus. Blood vessels are shown in red. By changing the X-ray optical magnification in the multi-scale recordings, one can zoom into regions-of-interest (red ovals). In these scans the resolution is high enough to resolve sub-structures of the nucleus, associated with different DNA packing regimes.
