Worldwide exchange programs

In addition to the Erasmus+ program, there is also the overseas program which enables TU Dortmund University students to go abroad. The list of countries around the world ranges from Australia and Botswana to Japan, Korea, the USA and Uruguay. Applications must be submitted to the International Office by October 30 for the following academic year. In the overseas program, the tuition fees at the host university are waived. You only pay your visa, travel and accommodation costs. Residence costs can vary greatly depending on the country. To increase the chances of your application being accepted, we recommend that you get involved in internationalization at TU Dortmund University beforehand. Please contact the coordinators for internationalization at the Department of Physics via erasmus.physiktu-dortmundde.

Is one semester too long for you? Then you might be interested in the short programs or intensive language courses. Short stays are possible for as little as one week and can also take place during the semester break. The best way to find out about the various options is to visit the website of the International Office.

So far, none of the programs have convinced you or your application was unfortunately not successful? Then you can visit your favourite university as a freemover, e.g. with AuslandsBAföG or another scholarship.

Learning Agreement

Before you go abroad, you should fill out the Learning Agreement. The Learning Agreement lists the courses that you will attend at the host university and how these courses will be recognized at TU Dortmund University. Please arrange an appointment with the contact for internationalization (by e-mail) as soon as you have selected your courses at the host university to discuss the recognition in Dortmund.
