Physics student council

The student council ("Fachschaft") is made up of all students majoring in physics. This includes students in the physics and medical physics degree programs. The teaching profession is an exception, here the students have to choose between the student council of their respective major subjects and the educational sciences. Once a year the student council elects its representative, the student council board. It is a contact point for all questions about the course but also for improvements. Its main task is to represent the interests of the student council vis-à-vis the department and thus to actively participate in the design and further development of teaching. In addition, the student council also offers a variety of extra-curricular activities. A lot of information about the courses, the student council and events can be found on the homepage (in German)

![3D visualisation of human neuronal tissue reconstructed by multi-scale X-ray phase contrast tomography. Neuronal cell nuclei are shown in yellow for the granule neurons in the dentate gyrus region of the hippocampus. Blood vessels are shown in red. By changing the X-ray optical magnification in the multi-scale recordings, one can zoom into regions-of-interest (red ovals). In these scans the resolution is high enough to resolve sub-structures of the nucleus, associated with different DNA packing regimes.
