Study
The Department of Physics offers bachelor's and master's degree programs in physics and medical physics, as well as in teaching and as a minor subject. Students are optimally prepared for the requirements in the bachelor's degree programs through a strong offering of prerequisite courses and self-assessments. These qualify successful students for the research-oriented master's programs. The range of courses is completed by further qualification measures, e.g. a doctorate or a habilitation. The Department of Physics also offers a wide range of international teaching measures and opportunities for academic stays abroad.

![3D visualisation of human neuronal tissue reconstructed by multi-scale X-ray phase contrast tomography. Neuronal cell nuclei are shown in yellow for the granule neurons in the dentate gyrus region of the hippocampus. Blood vessels are shown in red. By changing the X-ray optical magnification in the multi-scale recordings, one can zoom into regions-of-interest (red ovals). In these scans the resolution is high enough to resolve sub-structures of the nucleus, associated with different DNA packing regimes.
