During the exchange

Your exchange is about to begin! We are excited to welcome you to Dortmund in person!

The International Office has compiled a list of useful information to help you get started.

Courses

You can find out  the schedule and locations for your courses in LSF. For most courses, a moodle room will be created, and you can sign up for these rooms yourself. Moodle is used by lecturers to communicate with course participants and to upload lecture slides, exercise sheets, and other materials. For some courses, registration is also possible directly via LSF. If you encounter any issues with registration or finding important information, please contact erasmus.physiktu-dortmundde. The Erasmus Coordination team will be happy to assist you with the registration.

Examinations:

Dortmund students register for examinations through the BOSS system, but unfortunately, this is not available for exchange students. To register for an exam, please contact the lecturer directly. If you experience any difficulties, the Erasmus Coordination team in the department can provide assistance.

If you have registered for an exam but cannot or do not wish to take it, please inform the lecturer at least 24 hours before the exam. Failure to do so will result in the attempt being marked as failed, and this will be noted on your transcript of records.

Campus life

Dortmund has a lot to offer, and we hope you’ll take advantage of the various activities available on the TU Dortmund campus during your free time. Whether you’re interested in university sports, the university choir, or theater visits, we are confident that the university has something to suit your interests! You can find a comprehensive list of campus activities  on the TU Dortmund University website:

Even if you’re not a football fan, there’s plenty to explore in the Ruhr region. Be sure to check out the visitor pages on the City of Dortmund website for inspiration.

Transcript of Records

Transcript of Records

The Erasmus coordination in the physics department is responsible for issuing the Transcript of Records. The Transcript of Records is typically created shortly after your stay and sent to you by e-mail.

Certificate of Attendance

(Information from the website of the International Office)

The Certificate of Attendance is not issued automatically. If you have received a template for this certificate from your home university, the Erasmus+ department coordinator can sign the document. If you have not received a template for this certificate from your home university, Miriam Gothe will issue the Certificate of Attendance.

The start and end dates of your Erasmus mobility cannot be any other dates than the first and last date you were in Dortmund for academic reasons. The end date of your mobility can be, for example, your last examination, a deadline for submitting a paper or an appointment with the Erasmus+ department coordinator. The Certificate of Attendance can be signed or issued at the earliest one week before the academically relevant end date.
