MinTU and Girl's Day are annual events organised by the Department of Physics for female students. The workshop days are organised by the Equal Opportunities Department.

In this year's MinTU workshop at the DLR School Lab, 36 schoolgirls investigated waves and vibrations.

On Friday 12.04.2024 it was time again. The annual MinTU workshop took place on the premises of the DLR School Labs. Ms. Siegmann and Ms. Fißmer have been developing exciting workshops for the event for years. This year, two groups of 18 schoolgirls each were able to ride the perfect wave through the day. The phenomenon of waves and vibrations in everyday life was explored in exciting lectures and many interactive sections. They looked at how sound waves propagate in the air when the alarm clock rings, why the Brazil nuts are always on top when you shake your muesli or how an induction hob heats our food. Finally, we made our own flashlights so that we can browse through books (physics, of course) secretly under the comforter. The workshops take place annually together with the team and on the premises of the DLR School Lab, which is ideally equipped for this.
