Anniversary colloquium on the 60th birthday of Götz S. Uhrig

An interesting anniversary colloquium was held on 25.10.2024 to mark the 60th birthday of Prof. Götz S. Uhrig. It was celebrated with many local and foreign guests. The keynote speeches were given by two professors with close ties to Dortmund: The first is Jun.-Prof. Benedikt Fauseweh from Condensed Matter Theory (CMT), the second a former group leader in CMT, Prof. Kai P. Schmidt, who now holds a chair at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg. The focus was on theoretical aspects of quantum information and strong correlations in spin systems. This provided an opportunity for many intensive discussions!

![3D visualisation of human neuronal tissue reconstructed by multi-scale X-ray phase contrast tomography. Neuronal cell nuclei are shown in yellow for the granule neurons in the dentate gyrus region of the hippocampus. Blood vessels are shown in red. By changing the X-ray optical magnification in the multi-scale recordings, one can zoom into regions-of-interest (red ovals). In these scans the resolution is high enough to resolve sub-structures of the nucleus, associated with different DNA packing regimes.
