The 30 new IMAPP students have started their Master’s program early September in France. IMAPP is supported by the European Union via the Erasmus Mundus program.

The first students in the IMAPP Master‘s program funded by the Erasmus Mundus program start their studies at the partner university Clermont Auvergne.

The international Master's program "Advanced Methods in Particle Physics" (IMAPP) offered by the University of Bologna, the University of Clermont Auvergne and TU Dortmund University enters its third round. The special feature this time is that the program, and in particular the new cohort of students, is being funded for the first time by the Erasmus Mundus program of the European Union. In addition to the financial support, the Master's program also benefits from greater outreach in advertising the program. This is also reflected in the student numbers. A total of 30 students from six continents have chosen IMAPP. The first semester takes place at the University of Clermont Auvergne and so the students were welcomed there at the beginning of September by the Vice President for International Relations of the University of Clermont Auvergne, Prof. Marie-Elisabeth Baudoin, as well as the deans of the physics departments in Clermont and Dortmund. Next year, the prospective particle physicists will move on to Dortmund and Bologna, from where they will reach   one of the partner institutions located all over the world to conduct research for their Master’s project.
