Together with the University of Bologna and the University of Clermont Auvergne, the Department of Physics offers a new Master's program in particle physics.
The Department of Physics offers an international Master's program with a focus on particle physics, the Master of Science Advanced Methods in Particle Physics (IMAPP). The program is supported by the Universities of Bologna (It), the University of Clermont Auvergne (Fr) and TU Dortmund University and is supported by designated partner institutions worldwide. The standard period of study is four semesters and the Master's degree is a joint degree of all three universities. The program has now been accredited according to European standards.
The program is taught in English and it provides for stays at all three universities. In addition to teaching particle physics, the program is based on three methodological pillars, each of which is associated with one of the three universities. These are statistics and machine learning (University of Clermont Auvergne), instrumentation and detector physics (TU Dortmund University), and scientific computing (University of Bologna). The final thesis is completed at one of the international partner institutions over the period of one semester.
Information about admission criteria, enrollment deadlines, and details about the program can be found on the web pages of the Department as well as on the official web pages of the study program.
