Visit of the BRIDGE students from Boston
The BRIDGE students from Boston visited TU Dortmund University in time for the summer festival.
The photo on the left shows Emma Cox (MIT), Lizzy Sierzego (MIT), Nat Pen (Boston University) and Veronica Patino (MIT).
On the right are the summer students with Barbara Schneider (chair of the international office), Prof. Matthias Schneider (founder and organizer of the BRIDGE program), Prof. Jens Kleesiek (organizer of the BRIDGE program) and Prof. Tessa Faltten (Vice President of International Affairs at TU)... and of course with the famous TU/BVB scarves.
![Band structure of 2D semimetal based on HgTe quantum well. Experimental points are obtained from the analysis of the cyclotron resonance in the quasi-classical approximation. Solid lines are predictions of the kp theory with no free parameters. Splitting of the conduction (e1,2) and valence (h1) band is due to the quantum confinement. [J.
