International research cooperation receives Trailblazer Award

Die Forschenden untersuchen die Theorie, dass Nervensignale nicht rein elektrisch sind, sondern auch ein mechanisches Signal übertragen.
A research project at Boston University and Northwestern University has received the Trailblazer Engineering Impact Award from the US National Science Foundation (NSF). The three million dollar prize supports scientists who are pursuing innovative and novel research directions. Physicist Prof. Matthias Schneider and his research on the physics of nerve impulse propagation from TU Dortmund University is involved. The funding will also strengthen the transatlantic exchange of researchers and students.
