In the summer semester 2023, two internationally renowned researchers from the University of Tokyo will be our guests at the department: Daniela Hadasch (Gambrinus Programme) and Daniel Mazin (Ulrich Bonse Visiting Chair for Instrumentation).

Prof. Hadasch is particularly concerned with sources of high-energy particles in our home galaxy, the Milky Way, as well as with possibilities of regenerative energy supply for remote locations of observatories. Prof. Mazin's field of work is astroparticle physics with imaging airborne Cherenenkov telescopes, in particular the investigation of sources in the distant universe. He is project manager for the Large-Sized Telescopes (LSTs) currently being built on the Canary Island of La Palma.

Both visiting professorships enrich the department's portfolio in research and teaching with very exciting aspects. We warmly welcome them to the department and to TU Dortmund University!
