Master of Science - 2023

I am a Master student at the University of Bologna, and I took part in the Erasmus+ project for the Summer Semester 2023 at the TU of Dortmund. I have always dreamed of studying abroad, so this was an opportunity I could not miss. I left Italy at the beginning of March with a huge luggage and no prior knowledge of German. My Erasmus coordinator, Chris Delitzsch, was really kind and helpful, she even took the time to translate my student dorm contract in English.

I found at TU Dortmund very nice people, which made my experience there unforgettable. The professors I met in the classes I chose to attend where really friendly and put a lot of effort in their teaching hours, and they were always available to answer students' questions, making the lessons more engaging.

In Dortmund, there is a very large Erasmus community and a lot of activity for international students, so it was simple to make new friends and not feel alone, even being so far from home.

I also had the opportunity to travel a bit and immerse myself in German culture, putting to the test the little German I was slowly learning.

I will forever cherish the memories I created during my time in Dortmund and the people I met along the way. It was an incredible experience where I discovered some strengths I did not know I had before, and I recommend it to every one who is willing to grow, have fun and create some international friendship, which is a perfect way to better understand and get to know the world we live in.
